Many small drops of water make an ocean. By the grace of God and the loving hearts of many donors we have completed the first phase of the gigantic project of constructing the new primary/ high school complex on the two acre property. We are now offering classes from LKG through Std 8 and have made CBSE application to begin Std 9 next year in 2022. The ground floor complex has 10 classrooms, a big bhajan hall, lecture hall, science lab, and art/library room as well as a computer room. There is also an outdoor stage for cultural events.
With the help and cooperation of local Rotary Club Srikshetra, Puri (RID – 3262 ) and Rotary Club of Ojai, CA. USA (RID – 5240 ), a global grant was given in order to complete the Phase One of this project. Rotary Club of Ojai, CA. also gave a district grant to PIS to complete the Nursery playground area. Other loving donations allowed us to build a new principal office and an extra nursery classroom.
The proposed plan is to begin the second phase of construction with construction of the first floor of the new building. In order to offer Std 11 and 12 classes, we must have more classrooms plus chemistry and physics labs in addition to the science lab on the ground floor. The plan would also include a huge assembly hall and a multi-purpose room. The ground floor was constructed with an especially strong foundation to withstand cyclone winds and flooding, as the school may also serve as a much-needed storm shelter for the people of this seaside community. The first floor assembly hall would serve to shelter families in need of help. In recent years the Puri coastal area has been increasingly hard-hit by devastating cyclones.
